Microcurrent is a low-level current that mimics the body’s natural ionic flow and has been clinically tested to safely and effectively address a variety of skin concerns. Because microcurrent works virtually without sensation, the treatment is soothing and most clients feel nothing at all, insists NuFace. Microcurrent treatments are said to provide both instant and cumulative results.
According to NuFace, microcurrent at various outputs and waveforms have been shown to:
• Stimulate the recovery of damaged tissue;
• Aid in lymphatic drainage;
• "Re-educate" muscles;
• Enhance product penetration;
• Improve muscle tone and contour in the face and neck; and
• Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
The new skin care brand, called Activators, is based on its novel formula called IonPlex, which is said to conduct the NuFace devices' microcurrent into the skin. The gel formulas now called the Firming + Brightening Silk Crème and the Hydrating Aqua Gel, also function as leave-on treatments with skin care ingredients.
Coming soon are a line of booster serums, and later, ionized cleansers and exfoliants, and even retinol-based skin care formulas.
