The global vegan cosmetics market grew at a CAGR of 7% during 2014-2019,a trend that is expected to continue through 2026, according to a new study by IMARC Group. The plant-based beauty product lineup includes color cosmetics, skin care and hair care products. Many of the formulas contain antioxidants, plant collagen and naturally-extracted minerals that work to maintain skin nourishment and improve skin health with toxin-free ingredients, according to IMARC.
Market leaders included in the analysis include L’Oréal S.A., Lush Retail Ltd., Kosé Corporation and Arbonne International LLC (Yves Rocher). Product types ranged from skin and hair care to makeup; and distribution channels included supermarkets and convenience stores in nearly every continent.
IMARC Researchers attribute the rise in such vegan products to the negative impact of petroleum-based ingredients in non-vegan cosmetics. Celebrities have endorsed vegan beauty products, and such beauty trends have gained traction on both social media and e-commerce platforms.
