French natural active ingredient manufacturer SILAB has received the Platinum Medal from social and environmental performance rating platform EcoVadis – its highest distinction – for the second consecutive year.
SILAB scored a 73/100 across four areas (environment, social and human rights, ethics and responsible procurement), and remains in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis. This assessment equates to a Platinum Medal.
“Year after year, SILAB continues to ensure that its CSR policy is in line with its continuous improvement approach,” said Xavier Gaillard, deputy general manager for strategy at SILAB. “This strategy is worthwhile because, after spending four years with Gold certification, last year we made it up to Platinum level, and this year we’ve remained at the top. These distinctions, which we are always extremely honored to receive, are a testament to the soundness and sustainability of our commitments, something which is shared by all of our employees.”
Apart from an annual report outlining its key sustainable achievements, SILAB has developed the Actively Caring program, which establishes clear and ambitious sustainable development objectives over the course of the next five years. The plan is based on five essential pillars that apply to all levels of activity: sustainable innovation, the development of human potential, responsible sourcing, a preserved environment and community support.
