The research also revealed the most popular beauty trend of 2021 so far is Gua sha, which has had over 642,000 searches this year alone. The practice has also seen a 660% increase in popularity. Gua sha is an ancient Chinese practice that's meant to improve circulation, relax your muscles, and improve blood flow using a smooth flat pebble.
In addition, slugging, collagen supplements, microblading and soap brows are also seeing a surge in popularity.
The Roaring Twenties seems to be 2021’s most inspiring era for beauty, with the likes of red lipstick and coral blush also gaining in popularity.
Contouring has remained at the top of popular beauty trends in 2020 and 2021, however, smokey eyes are seeing a drop.
