Neelikon, one of the world’s top three producers for food colors, cosmetic pigments and fluorescent dyes, is launching a one-of-its-kind product called “One World One Quality” to offer a range of high purity colors with low impurities that will meet the different regulations of various countries. In addition to the U.S. these include JECFA, Europe, Japan, China and India, as applicable.
The new concept, created after years of investing in research and development, meets all six of these regulations by reducing the impurity profile along with additional test parameters.
“It is the responsibility of the manufacturers of such consumables (foods, cosmetics or medicines) to produce and sell only the safest products at all costs using color additives of the highest quality and fewer impurities,” stated the company in a press release. “Over the years, a lot of research and experiments have been done to put together a series of regulations to ensure best practices by different countries in their own capacity. Organizations like the World Health Organization and developed nations have invested heavily both in time and money to design legislations, specifications and test methods to monitor and manage the best practices, pushing the developing nations to adopt a similar charter for their people.”
The idea for Neelikon’s “One World One Quality” was driven by the impact that colors have on consumers’ moods and thus their purchasing behaviors. However, Neelikon raises the valid point of the potential dangers these fascinating colors emitted from food, cosmetics and medicine pose in the form of harmful chemicals and thus the possible long-term damage it could cause to our bodies. Safety and suitability, Neelikon says, are worth considering before using such products in any application.
