Chris-Tia Donaldson, founder and CEO of indie hair and skin care company Thank God It’s Natural (TGIN), has died at the age of 42. The announcement was made on the brand’s Instagram page (@tginatural).
According to the company’s Finance and HR Manager Aris Singleton, who is also Donaldson’s niece, Donaldson passed peaceful on Nov. 13. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 in 2015.
Prior to starting brand, Donaldson represented Fortune 500 companies in complex business transactions involving technology and open source code. She earned her A.B. in Economics from Harvard University with high honors, and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
TGIN sells products in Ulta, Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, Sally’s Beauty, and Walgreens.
