The Cut has announced a partnership with Visa to deliver The Beauty Edit: a curated, limited edition beauty box featuring the editors’ favorite essential beauty products from up-and-coming brands.
The offering is the first of its kind from The Cut for its extensive audience of beauty enthusiasts, and will be limited to 100 boxes, available only for Visa cardholders.
“Beauty has been part of The Cut’s DNA since its inception, and this year, we’ve been able to go deeper,” says The Cut’s editor-in-chief Lindsay Peoples Wagner. “Coming on the heels of Black Beauty Matters, a special pop-up section we launched this summer to shine a light on Black culture’s influence on the industry, we’re excited to bring our audience of beauty obsessives a box packed with some of our favorite products from up-and-coming brands.”
Boxes ($89) include Ami Colé’s Lip Oil Treatment, Bread’s Macadamia-Oil + Puff, Eadem’s Milk Marvel Dark Spot Treatment, Golde’s Turmeric Latte Blend, Redoux’s Turmeric Botanical Bar, and Spoken Flames’ Fearless Candle. The boxes will remain on sale until all 100 are sold, and 100% of proceeds from every box sold will go to charities that help provide Black/Brown women-identifying founders with access to community, capital, and capacity building.
The Beauty Edit builds on the success of The Cookie Edit, a limited-edition collection of cookies New York Magazine launched earlier this year, and Vox Media’s commitment to corporate citizenship and social good. It’s also one of many ways The Cut has been able to partner with brands this year, working with Sephora on a beauty section devoted to Black excellence, and with Porsche on an intimate dinner bringing successful women across various industries together.
The Beauty Edit is also the latest in a series of programs from Visa to support the needs of small and micro businesses (SMBs). Through its She’s Next, Empowered by Visa program, Visa has committed more than $1 million in hyperlocal grants to Black- and women-led SMBs that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. This builds on a $200 million, five-year commitment from the Visa Foundation made in 2020 to support SMBs around the world, with a focus on fostering women’s economic advancement.
