Dermadry, a Montreal-based medical device company dedicated to the development of iontophoresis technology for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, has announce the recipients of the Startup Award at the 2021 Innovation Awards presented by the Association pour le Développement de la Recherche et de l'Innovation du Québec (ADRIQ).
The ADRIQ gala rewards Quebec-based companies for leadership in innovation in their respective field. The ADRIQ's 31st Innovation Awards Gala, viewed as Québec's innovation community's most prestigious event, was held virtually on Nov. 25. The Innovation - Jeune Entreprise award is presented every year to a company that has recently developed and introduced a daring innovation to the market. This prize serves to highlight the technical creativity and capacity of Québécois startup companies.
"When we started this company a few years ago, it was to help people suffering from excessive sweating of the hands, feet, and underarms. It's a dream come true,” said Mathieu Mireault, Dermadry's director of sales, upon accepting the award from Dr. Paula Wood-Adams, interim vice president, research and graduate studies at Concordia University, during the virtual gala. “It wouldn't be possible without our partners, and our team who helps those living with hyperhidrosis every single day. Winning this prize is a great motivator to continue our innovative efforts and work on new technologies to further help the millions of people worldwide living with this condition."
