The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) was among 30 trade associations that petitioned President Biden and the National Governors Association to prioritize COVID tests for critical infrastructure employees.
The Critical Infrastructure Supply Chain Council (CISCC) is a coordinated effort of over 30 trade organizations committed to addressing both long- and short-term supply chain challenges and weaknesses, including those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The letters went out Jan. 5.
“It is becoming increasingly clear that the spread of Omicron poses the challenge of rapid disruption to America’s critical supply infrastructure sectors,” stated the letter. “These sectors and the industries they represent depend on essential workers, all of whom contribute to ensure the health, safety and well-being of Americans every day. Critical for sustaining this supply chain is the availability of accurate, readily available testing supplies to slow the spread of COVID-19, in accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
