The Fragrance Foundation will honor Macy’s, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Gennette with its Hall of Fame Award at the 2022 Fragrance Foundation Awards on Thursday, June 9 at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The Fragrance Foundation Awards recognize creativity, innovation and achievement in the industry and celebrates outstanding individuals in the fragrance community.
Gennette began his nearly four-decade retail career in 1983 as an executive trainee at Macy’s West in San Francisco. In March of 2017, Gennette was elected CEO of Macy’s, Inc., and chairman in February 2018. Over the years, Gennette served in key roles as executive vice president and director of stores for Macy’s Central, and as chief merchandising officer where fragrance is often front-and-center in a retailer’s merchandising mix.
Each year, the Hall of Fame Award recognizes an extraordinary leader in the industry, acknowledging their contributions to the world of fragrance.
“For millions of people in the USA, all of Macy’s, Inc: Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury are fragrance destinations. We are proud to honor Macy’s, Inc. and Jeff Gennette for his leadership, vision and focus on the importance of fragrance for all consumers as well as our shared values of diversity, equity & inclusion,” said Linda G. Levy, president, The Fragrance Foundation.
“As ‘The Fragrance Destination,’ Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Bluemercury have brought the power of scent to life, elevating this intimate customer purchase through an unparalleled in-store and online shopping experience,” said Gennette. “The entire Macy’s, Inc. team is honored to be recognized by The Fragrance Foundation and showcased amongst the best in the business.”
