The Professional Beauty Association (PBA), a national trade organization representing manufacturers, distributors, salon and spa business owners and licensed beauty professionals, will hold its third annual California Compliance session on Sunday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m. PST at ISSE in Long Beach, CA.
The California Compliance Session will feature leading professional industry experts as they take an in-depth look at critical California labor and wage laws. Designed for employment- based salon owners in California, the event will feature guest panelists sharing their professional expertise regarding: employee compensation plans; legislative and policy updates; cosmetology licensing updates; and IRS tax updates.
Salon owner attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to PBA’s California-based labor law legal counsel; PBA’s California lobbyist; PBA salon owner members; California’s
Executive Officer for the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology; and the IRS.
“Business owners in our industry have experienced several recent changes to California labor and wage laws,” said Myra Reddy, PBA government affairs director. “We want our members to be aware of all resources available to them and to help them operate compliant and successful businesses. By providing experts at events like our California Compliance Session, we can share clear and correct information regarding complex issues.”
Panel speakers at the symposium include Dan Muller, CA Compliance legal expert; Kristy Underwood, executive officer for the California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology; Kristen Deazeley, management and program analyst for the IRS; Mike Belote, PBA lobbyist, California Advocates, Inc.; and Donna Huston, salon owner at Adagio For Hair.
