During XPAND2022, the annual meeting of the Household and Commercial Products Association, HCPA recognized several members for their contributions to the association and the industry. The annual meeting is underway in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Steve Christenson, SVP-global regulatory affairs & general council, Ecolab, received the Charles E. Allderdice Memorial Award. The award recognizes a member who has made significant contributions to the betterment of the association and the household and commercial products industry.
In accepting the award, Christenson recalled previous Allderdice Award winners including Bill Auriemma and Paul Siracusa, who exemplify the pillars of HCPA: Advocate. Communicate. Connect.
“Our products were essential during the pandemic,” Christenson recalled. “We make a difference. But we must continue to work together.”
During the opening reception, HCPA revealed the winners of the 4th Annual Innovation Awards.
Molly Blessing, director, sustainability, HCPA announced the winners:
Ingredients: Locus Performance Ingredients, Amphi Sophorolipids biosurfactants
Technology: Plastipak, SprayPET Revolution recyclable cap and bottle
Circularity Economy (new category): Eastman, molecular recycling of plastic
Carbon Footprint: Ecolab
End-User Communication: Procter & Gamble, North America Fabric Care
Association Award: Croda, hydrolyzed wheat protein for fabric care

• Air Care – Eileen Hedrick, Symrise
• Antimicrobial – Lisa Dreilinger, Reckitt
• Cleaning – Maggie Gottardi, State Industrial Products
• Floor Care – Rebecca Kaufold, Spartan Chemical Company
• Industrial & Automotive – Michelle Rudnick, CRC Industries
• Pest Management – Dan Hollas, SC Johnson
