JOB SUMMARY
Vertellus is currently seeking a Field Marketing Manager, Performance Materials (PM) located at either our Parsippany, NJ or our Indianapolis, In office. Exceptional remote candidates will be considered. In this role you will be responsible for working closely with customers to executing all facets of the PM business marketing plan. The Field Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving growth of the PM business, with a special emphasis on the Personal Care, Lens, and Medical sub-segment, which includes FreshStat™ , CPC, Biothane®, and PC® Biomaterials product lines.
Specific focus of the role will be to implement the North American PM marketing plan, working with customers to communicate and implement key value propositions and developing new business based on knowledge of relevant markets. The scope of the role includes customer engagement, leading cross-functional project teams to deliver growth projects, and identifying new markets and products for the business.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Work closely with the Business Director to understand overall business strategies and translate into NA growth plans based on good local market understanding
- Develop and Execute the North American PM marketing plan
- Lead Opportunity Analysis to validate growth and performance improvement initiatives in the PM business
- Identify opportunities, develop customer contacts, secure customer approvals, shepherd customer qualification projects leading to a high-value pipeline of opportunities
- Provide active customer engagement to develop and implement solutions successfully at the customer site
- Provide customers with advice, support and troubleshooting for their applications
- Develop new business models and partnerships to pursue growth opportunities and drive the implementation with cross-functional support
- Work with business team to understand potential new markets, develop value propositions, and implement go-to-market plans
- Lead cross-functional stage-gate project teams, organizing activities, and mobilizing resources to achieve business and product development milestones
- Monitor the activities of competitive materials suppliers and develop strategies and plans to meet competitive challenges
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Polymer Science/Engineering or related; MBA degree is strongly preferred
- 10-15 years working experience in supplying chemicals/materials/ingredients to personal care, home care, contact lens, or medical device markets
- Experience in product formulation & testing, product development, or technical market development; exhibits the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions
- Knowledge and demonstrated expertise of relevant consumer product formulation, testing, and regulation for skin care, hair care, home care, contact lens, or medical devices
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-functional, global team structure and motivate team members and peers with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- A positive, energetic leadership style that leverages relationships and inspires confidence in others
- Proven marketing competency and analytical skills with basic financial knowledge to develop business cases for management review and decision making
- Ability to create a visually sharp presentation to communicate ideas to a varied audience
- Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities that enable rapid assessment of situations and opportunities
- Able to anticipate potential issues and suggest creative alternatives to overcome barriers
