Tokiwa dedicates headquarters in Monroe.
Established in 1948, Tokiwa is a privately-held company based in Tokyo Japan and celebrating 70 years of business success as a leading, world-renowned designer, manufacturer and provider of innovative, high-performance cosmetics. With nearly 125 trained specialists in various disciplines, the company has earned over 450 worldwide patents for componentry, packaging and formulations.
Robert Congionti, vice president of operations for Tokiwa, pictured at left, was joined by Monroe Mayor Gerald Tamburro at the podium to discuss how the company will bring business to the region by way of jobs at the factory.
This world class manufacturing facility is more than 152,000 square feet and sits on over 12 acres. Over $30 million was spent to renovate, re-imagine and reconstruct the facility, along with investments in new machinery, equipment and working capital.
Designed for maximum efficiency, production workflow and cleanliness…powder and liquid manufacturing functions have been completely segregated to avoid any cross contamination. Additionally, dust collecting pick-up points are strategically installed throughout the factory. Pictured are pressed powder machines.
Each manufacturing function is housed in individually-controlled production rooms: pre-weigh rooms, separate bulk mixing rooms for powders & liquids, holding rooms for bulk and WIP, separate filling rooms for liquids & powders, plus an enormous assembly and packaging area.
