Pinolumin is billed as a novel neurocosmetic active derived from Swiss stone pine to reduce skin irritation and inflammation. According to Mibelle Biochemistry, the material contains a resveratrol-like molecule called pinosylvin, which has been shown to neutralize free radicals, block pain receptors and reduce inflammation.
According to Mibelle, Pinolumin has been shown to inhibit the function of the pain receptor TRPV1, which is over-activated in sensitive and stressed skin. As a result, Pinolumin inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory mediators and protects skin collagen by inhibiting the UVA-induced production of MMP-1.
Specifically, Pinolumin:
• Calms sensitive and irritated skin;
• Visibly reduces redness and age spots; and
• Creates a more even-toned skin for a youthful radiance.
According to Mibelle, clinical studies proved that Pinolumin was able to both strongly and visibly reduce local redness and age spots, which increased overall skin tone homogeneity.
