THAILAND: In-Cosmetics Asia 2013, which was held in Bangkok, attracted 6,007 unique visitors from across Asia, a 16% increase compared to 2012. Visitors hailed from all corners of the globe, with Malaysia, China and South Korea the top three represented countries outside Thailand. With 2,285 overseas visitors, international attendees accounted for 38% of the total attendance, an increase of 18% compared to 2012.
In-Cosmetics Asia 2013 provided visitors with the opportunity to meet more than 360 suppliers from 30 countries, source ingredients and discover 240-plus new products during the course of the three-day event. The new Korea Country Focus proved a popular attraction with visitors able to learn about this dynamic market, which grew 9.1% in 2012.
At the Innovation Zone. visitors saw 37 ingredient launches from the six months leading up to the show and tested 22 exclusive formulations. Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Awards were presented to Lucas Meyer Cosmetics (gold) for its Elix-IR ingredient, Lipotec (silver) for its Source of Youth Cream with Juvefoxo peptide, and schülke & mayr (bronze) for sensiva PA 3, a nature-inspired multifunctional cosmetic additive that offers protection for leave-on, wet-wipe and sensitive applications.
Sederma won the best new ingredient award for Beautifeye, an active ingredient that targets sagging of the upper eyelids, while P&G was awarded the most creative application award for its SK-II Stempower Essence which boosts skin’s inner resilience for bouncy looking skin with less visible pores.
The next In-Cosmetics Asia takes place in Bangkok, Nov. 4-6, 2014.
