Last year, the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) launched its Key Pledge campaign, a program aimed at increasing education and awareness for safe handling and usage of single-load liquid laundry packets. Since its debut, the program has garnered more than 39,000 pledges from consumers to “Be the Key” to a safe laundry room and routine. This nationwide call-to-action secured support from all 50 states with the highest engagement from residents in California, Florida and Texas.
Additionally, ACI announced the first-ever Key Pledge sweepstakes winner, Cynthia Moreno of Harlingen, TX.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from Cynthia along with the other consumers who joined us this past year to help champion our mission,” said Nancy Bock, ACI senior vice president of education.
“As we continue to roll out year two of the Key Pledge campaign, we look forward to continue raising awareness among parents and caregivers of the potential dangers laundry packets pose, along with educating them about proper safety precautions to help prevent laundry packet accidents,” Bock said.
The Key Pledge campaign, which launched in June 2013, is a multi-platform educational program aimed at raising broad awareness about the potential hazards laundry packets can pose to young children if not safely stored out of reach and sight and in their original container or pouch.
