Two well-known dermatologists and skin care brand owners have new books out.
Dr. Howard Murad has released his latest book “Conquering Cultural Stress: The Ultimate Anti-Aging Secret - 3 Steps to Looking, Living and Feeling Better,” in which he shares his latest research exploring the impact of cultural stress, the stress of over-connected modern living, on cellular water levels—the key markers of all aging processes and disease.
“Cultural Stress is having a greater impact on the state of our health than most people think,” said Dr. Murad. “The extreme dependence on digital devices, long commutes in heavy traffic, worries about job loss, keeping up to speed with everything you have to do and global conflicts all combine to lead to a relentless pressure to produce and succeed. By understanding and taking healthy measures to eradicate Cultural Stress, each person can dramatically increase his or her odds of unlocking their personal potential to look younger, feel younger and live healthier, happier and more rewarding lives.”
Dr. Zein Obagi has also published a book, “The Art of Skin Health Restoration and Rejuvenation: The Science of Clinical Practice, Second Edition.” In this book, he reveals the Zein Obagi System of Skin Classification that specifically addresses the variables in skin types and their expected responses to various treatments. Additionally readers will also learn why moisturizers can be harmful and weaken the skin; the hidden dangers of long-term usage of hydroquinone; how to restore skin health while treating underlying skin conditions; how to select the optimal procedure based on the problem, the skin type, the mechanism of action, and the objective of such procedures; and best practices for treating skin of color.
“Health and skin care occupy a prominent place in the mind of the consumer. The cry for youthful disease-free healthy skin has been heard. I have devoted my career over the past three decades to educating physicians all over the world on how to deal with skin from a different perspective,” said Obagi.
