Procedure | |
Tare beaker. Combine part A ingredients and begin homogenizing in low speed. In an Osterizer, pre-mill part B ingredients (3 times for 15 seconds) until pigments are well blended. Add part B to part A and homogenize until pigments are dispersed evenly. Begin heating parts A/B while preparing a slurry of part C ingredients; homogenize into A/B mixture. Increase heat to 85ºC and maintain temperature at 85-90ºC for 10 minutes. Lower heat and prepare a second slurry with part D ingredients; homogenize into parts A/B/C at 77ºC. Homogenize until uniform and smooth. Check weight and add water to compensate for any loss, plus another 20 grams (per kilogram). Continue homogenizing and increase temperature back up to 77ºC. Combine part E ingredients separately and heat to 77ºC. Homogenize into main mixture and maintain a 77-80ºC temperature for 10 minutes. Cool to 45ºC with continued slow homogenization. Add part F. Check for water loss again. Homogenize until temperature reaches 35ºC. | |
