    Do you Yahoo? Back in the web’s infancy, everyone asked that question. But search engines, like the times, change. Today, everybody is “Googling this” and “Googling that,” so it’s no wonder why the one-time search leader Yahoo agreed to be acquired by Verizon Communications.

    A lot has changed during the past 20 or so years in our industry as well. Back then, multinationals dictated color cosmetic trends and collections. But today, indie brands are calling the shots, especially among Millennials. Melissa Meisel reports on the latest shades that are impacting this multibillion segment. Her article starts on p. 63 in this issue and a list of new ingredients for color cosmetics follows, beginning on p. 72.

    Also in this issue, we take a look at how distributors are impacting the specialty chemical category (p. 40), and how packaging companies are shattering concepts of glass containers for fine fragrance packaging (p. 55).

    Finally, as a companion article to July’s The Top 50, this month we review the goings-on of the biggest household and personal products companies with headquarters outside the US. The International Top 30 starts on p. 79.

    Don’t Believe Everything You Read!
    A big shout out to all the readers who took me to task for bungling reporting of the Brexit vote in last month’s editorial. As everyone knows by now, the UK did, in fact, vote to leave the EU. As we went to press, it looked like the vote would be to stay. How wrong I was…just like this famous issue of the Chicago Daily Tribune, which infamously got the results wrong on the Harry Truman v. Thomas Dewey 1948 presidential election.
