US Patent No. 9,968,527 B2; Colgate-Palmolive has patented an oral care composition comprising stannous salt, sodium tripolyphosphate, and methylvinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer, blended together. The composition comprises an amount of water such that there is less than 1% stannous tripolyphosphate ionic intermediates in the composition and wherein said composition comprises less than about 10% water. The composition may optionally contain adhesion agents, anticalculus agents, antiplaque agents, antimicrobial agents, viscosity modifiers, diluents, surfactants, foam modulators, peroxide activators, peroxide stability agents, abrasives, pH modifying agents, humectants, mouth feel agents, sweeteners, flavorants, colorants, and combinations thereof.
Colgate has also been awarded US 9,968,529 B2 for an antiperspirant/deo composition, comprising an antiperspirant active, a clay, and talc. The clay is selected from bentonite, hectorite, and combinations thereof. The active consists of compounds having the formula AM(SO4)2•12H2O, wherein A is a monovalent cation and M is a trivalent metal ion. The composition is a solid stick or a soft stick.
