Avon Products, Inc., London, announced that as a further step in its ongoing plan to streamline the business to fuel growth, it will consolidate its US operations into its existing facilities in Suffern, NY. This will include the sale of the company’s offices in Rye, NY, which is projected to be completed in 2019.
The planned consolidation includes the elimination of 100 jobs, consistent with the company’s previous restructuring disclosures. No R&D or marketing roles are impacted, according to a company spokesperson who told Happi that the change mainly comes as the data center moves from Rye to a range of centers in the US and abroad.
“With Avon’s international focus, simplifying our US operations is a logical next step in providing fuel for growth, and a further example of our commitment to improve Avon’s performance and become more fit for purpose,” said Avon CEO Jan Zijderveld.
“While decisions like these that impact our employees are never easy, we will manage the transition in a respectful and sensitive manner. I wish to thank all of our colleagues for their dedication to our growth plans to turn around Avon.”
