Polman has been Unilever CEO for more than 10 years and has worked in the consumer goods industry for almost four decades. During his tenure, the company delivered consistent top and bottom line growth ahead of its markets, Unilever noted.
In other news, after 35 years with Unilever, Keith Weed, chief marketing officer, will retire in May. No successor has been named at press time. He is responsible for the marketing, communications and sustainable business functions, a role which has seen him lead the creation of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and direct significant advances in digital marketing.
Weed has worked for Unilever in the UK, France, the US in a variety of general management and marketing roles.
