Happi may be 55 years old, but we’re experiencing somewhat of a growth spurt when it comes to editorial staff. It’s all part of continuing efforts to improve our overall coverage of the global household and personal products industry. For example, last month we introduced Out of Africa, a column by Raymond Chimhandamba, founder and director of Handas Consulting Ltd., a consulting group in Johannesburg, South Africa. Raymond has years of experience in the FMCG space, and has written for a number of publications, including Nonwovens Industry, another Rodman Media title. Out of Africa reports on the dynamic African consumer product market, a market that will enjoy the fastest growth rate during the next decade.
This month, we welcome Sharleen St. Surin-Lord MD to the pages of Happi. Dr. St. Surin-Lord is a board-certified dermatologist who has been practicing for more than 13 years. She is in private practice at Visage Dermatology, Largo, MD and is an assistant professor of dermatology at Howard University College of Medicine and the University of Maryland. Dr. St. Surin-Lord is a member of the American Hair Research Society. Every other month, she will provide insights on hair health and the products and ingredients that make it possible. Her column, Hair’s the Thing, can be found here.
Finally, the Rodman in-house editorial staff expanded earlier this year with the addition of Charles Sternberg, a recent graduate of Gettysburg College, with a BA in Cinema Media Studies and a double minor in Music and Writing. He serves as an assistant editor across a number of Rodman Media titles. As the conference season gets in full swing this fall, Charlie will be at a number of events including In-Cosmetics North America next month in New York City.
In the September issue of Happi, we report on the latest issues, trends and new products that are impacting the multibillion dollar surfactant market; it’s a raw material category that affects just about every finished product formulation in the household and personal products industry. Also this month, we look at some of the most exciting ingredients to hit the beauty space and provide an update on the environmental fragrance category.
We hope that you enjoy this edition of Happi. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
