What have the last few months been like at Touchland? How crazy has it been?
The term “crazy” is not enough to define the last three months! Sales skyrocketed 2,194% in the first quarter of this year from the same period a year ago and after we sold out, we quickly developed a waitlist of more than 34,000 customers. With more states beginning to open in the US, demand today is the highest it has ever been. Fortunately, Touchland was already growing at a very fast pace—we successfully launched in every Ulta location (1,200 stores nationwide) before the outbreak.
What has been your biggest challenge during this coronavirus outbreak?
It’s been very challenging in many ways. While we have experienced many supply chain challenges, such as alcohol shortages and price increases of our main ingredient, we have decided to maintain our prices for customers despite the price increases on our raw materials. In times like this, we want to be the company customers can count on. We have obviously seen a massive increase in demand and we have had to work against the clock to ramp up production to maximize product availability for as many people as possible. While this outbreak has been very challenging, we have done our best to handle one battle at a time.
What is demand like for Kub, your commercial unit?
Order volume for Kub has grown more than 2,000% every month this year. Of course, every company wants to make their customers, visitors, employees and tenants feel happy and safe as they begin returning to stores, to the gym, to the office. Touchland’s strategic partners today include category leading brands in retail, fitness, fast casual, hospitality and luxury real estate.
Brands are choosing the Touchland Kub Hand Sanitizer Dispenser because they want to create a positive experience for people and build trust. It’s an honor to have companies much larger than us looking to make a statement with Touchland that their spaces are clean and safe.
Do you have any new products on the launchpad?
Yes, we do! Be on the lookout for new products within the next two months.
How does Touchland plan to influence the future of hand hygiene?
This is going to be a constant project, we want to make the hygiene habit fun, pleasing and cool. Our mission is to constantly develop solutions that meet untapped market needs, particularly combining our unique design sensibility with great user experience.
