Taking place at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via from March 28-30, more than 850 leading personal care ingredient suppliers are confirmed to showcase over 2,800 ingredients, helping R&D professionals discover the latest, newly launched ingredients for new product development. Among them, 80% of the top 20 global cosmetics ingredient suppliers will be in attendance. At the same time, the show floor will include more than 80 new exhibitors.
“Year on year, we aim to deliver an interactive platform for the international personal care ingredients community to come together, discover new ingredients, and establish meaningful and longstanding connections that facilitate new business opportunities,” said Roziani Zulkifli, event director, In-Cosmetics Global. “We’re delighted to return to Barcelona—for the first time in eight years—to see how the industry is responding to the increasingly conscious consumer, embracing new business models and formulation techniques that put sustainability at the heart of the industry.”
Clean Beauty & Biotech
Among the categories set to be represented on the show floor, clean beauty is leading the fore with more than 1,300 ingredients on display that respond to the need for products that are organic, green, cruelty-free or naturals. Biotech ingredients, where plant extracts are manufactured using various techniques such as cold pressing, compression, steam distillation or solvent extraction, are also rising in popularity.Attendees can also discover ingredients responding to the latest trends from waterless formulations, CBD, microbiome, neurocosmetics and more. Alongside clean beauty, one of the biggest trends to emerge at In-Cosmetics Global is a focus on personalization, which is now a standard that consumers expect from their favorite personal care and cosmetic brands. Consumers are increasingly expecting brands to anticipate what they might want or need next.
Zoning In on Sustainability
Attendees can not only find the latest ingredients ideal for new natural, organic, free-from or waterless formulations, new for 2023, In-Cosmetics Global will help attendees understand what it means to be truly sustainable. Since 2017, the Sustainability Corner at the event has grown in popularity, with an increasing number of attendees looking for suitable solutions. But it’s not just eco-friendly ingredients and ethical sourcing that make a company or product sustainable.The new Sustainability Zone has been introduced to expand the show’s sustainability offering, providing more information and opportunities for attendees to discover how to become more sustainable. The Zone will consist of the existing Sustainability Corner display and theater, but for the first time will be joined by a new sustainability pavilion.
Dedicated Zones
Elsewhere on the show floor, dedicated zones will focus on specialist topics—bringing together suppliers to help attendees discover the companies and solutions available to meet their unique challenges.The latest ingredient launches in the popular Innovation Zone and in association with In-Cosmetics Discover, will help attendees discover the very latest ingredients and materials to give finished products that innovative edge.
Meanwhile tailored product showcases will see international suppliers take attendees on a journey of new scents and fragrance trends in the Fragrance Zone. The latest developments in the world of lab equipment can be found in the Lab Zone, while the Testing and Regulation Zone will take a deep dive into the safety, stability and shelf-life of personal care products. Furthermore, the “Boost Your Test” feature will help match the most appropriate testing methods to the evaluation specifications. The Sensory Bar will invite attendees to identify new and invigorating sensations for their next cosmetic creation. The Make-Up Bar will profile innovative pigments and technologies to deliver captivating shades and hues.
Also returning to connect attendees with the latest products and brands, both established and new, will be the event’s dedicated R&D Tours. Following their resounding success at In-Cosmetics Global in Paris 2022, the tours will be open exclusively to R&D professionals from cosmetic/contract manufacturers. The themes for this year’s tours include Microbiome—Advancements in skin care and anti-aging, Skinification and Biotech. Also available in a digital and printed format for on-site visitors, this year’s Indie Trail will help attendees navigate the event with greater efficiency, creating new business opportunities. It creates a direct line for indie brands to identify exhibitors who supply ingredients and support a smaller production.
Brands and ingredients will also be on show by location. The event’s dedicated country pavilions will capture the trends and innovations showcased by suppliers, spanning France, UK, Brazil, Spain, China, Tunisia, South Africa and, new to the show this year, Indonesia.

The show floor will offer boundless opportunities to source the latest ingredients, the education program at this year’s In-Cosmetics Global will bring together leading industry experts to explore the more pertinent trends impacting cosmetics and personal care brands. Market intelligence will be explored in the Marketing Trends Theatre, where experts will be on hand to deliver the latest industry research and market analysis.Representatives from Euromonitor, Kline & Co, Light Years, Mintel, Beautystreams, Globaldata, Gallinée, NPD Group, Asia Cosme Lab, Beauty Cluster Barcelona, Beauty Kitchen and more will all take to the stage over the course of the three days, covering a wide range of topics from fragrance innovation, Gen Z and the new purpose-driven era of beauty, and transformation of hair care in a post-pandemic world.
The Sustainability Corner Theatre will feature suppliers showcasing their latest advancements and achievements in sustainable beauty. Technical Seminars delivered by suppliers will offer inspiration for new product formulations and alternative solutions for existing projects.
The popular Formulation Lab will return, with a carefully curated program to provide exclusive opportunities for formulators and R&D specialists to get hands-on with the latest formulation techniques. Designed for R&D and lab staff of cosmetic makers, contract manufacturers, private labels and indie brands, the sessions will take a deep dive into the technical applications and formulations using selected ingredients.
For attendees looking for more interactive demonstrations of formulations live at the show, Mintel will deliver a program of three live demonstrations exploring the “Future of Beauty: Key Trends and Products Shaping the Industry.” Taking place in the Innovation Zone, experts will come together to address evolving consumer lifestyles and priorities, the importance of sustainability and ethics, the changing role of identify, and the influence of technology on the future of beauty.
Celebrating Beauty’s Best
Returning for a live and in-person ceremony in 2023, In-Cosmetics Global will celebrate the newest ingredient innovations with a free-to-attend award ceremony and after party. Kicking off after the show closes on the opening day of the show, attendees and exhibitors are invited to celebrate this year’s Innovation Zone Awards winners in style with an evening of live music, refreshments and relaxed networking.During the ceremony, winners of six categories will be announced including Best Active Ingredient, Best Functional Ingredient, Green Ingredient, Rising Star, and two special awards judged at the event by a panel of industry experts—the Sensory Bar Award and Make-up Bar Award.
