Formulating Solutions for Hawaii: Ready-to-Go Suncare for Hawaii Compliance

Formulating Solutions for Hawaii: Ready-to-Go Suncare for Hawaii Compliance

    11.07.18

In June 2018, the US state of Hawaii signed into law the world’s first ban on the sale of sunscreens containing two UV filters in particular - oxybenzone and octylmethoxycinnamate. This change creates considerable challenges for sunscreen formulators, since the US market also has the least amount of allowable sunscreen filters in the world. Concerned about how to maintain adequate SPF protection with the loss of two key UV filters, companies have begun actively seeking new solutions to meet existing SPF levels.

In the webinar, we will discuss:
    • What are the latest developments and what is behind the regulatory shift?
    • How can companies formulate to meet SPF targets in the new regulatory climate?
    • Ready-to-go Hawaii compliant sunscreen formulations in the top product formats

Keeping up with consumer’s appetite for semi-permanent hair coloration

Keeping up with consumer’s appetite for semi-permanent hair coloration

    04.04.18

As consumers embrace cosmetics as the perfect tool for self-expression and expect their palette of makeup color to keep up with their daily mood, it comes as no surprise that sales of semi-permanent and temporary hair color products are on the rise globally. With pictures of incredibly vibrant hair colors and hues popping up relentlessly on Instagram, and as a new rainbow hair trend constantly chases the previous mermaid trend, consumer’s expectations have been hyped like never before! Vibrant and easy to apply as become the new long-lasting.

But formulation of semi-permanent coloring products comes with its own set of challenges: selecting the right dyes with the best dying performance, or optimizing dyes blend and formulation conditions to assure shade consistency over time, can make the product development process tedious. On top of that, fast evolving regional regulations for hair dyes, in Asia or in Europe, add up to the list of burdens hindering product development.

In this webinar, Sensient’s hair color expert, Patricia Vesque, will dive into the latest trends for semi-permanent hair coloration and explore the latest dye technologies developed to meet consumers’ expectations. This 1-hour session will cover market trends, a review of semi-permanent hair dye technologies and insights to achieve high performance formulations, and will touch on what lies in the future for hair color as natural ingredients are becoming omnipresent on beauty shelves.
