Mike Doyle Is Appointed LycoRed Corp. President



LycoRed:

Recently named Mike Doyle as president of LycoRed Corp. He replaces Leo Cullen, who recently resigned. Prior to joining LycoRed Corp., Mr. Doyle was business director of the human nutrition division at BASF Inc.


Delville of Symrise
Symrise:

Perfumer Jean-Claude Delville was appointed vice president, senior fine fragrance perfumer at Symrise.  Mr. Delville has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. In his work for Créations Aromatiques, Quest, IFF and Firmenich, he has created Cabotine (Gres), Vera Wang (Coty), Organza Indecent (LVMH/Givenchy), Parfum d’Eté (LVMH/Kenzo), Very Sexy for Him (Victoria’s Secret), Can Can by Paris Hilton (Parlux) and Curve (Liz Clairborne) as well as fragrances for Estée Lauder. Mr. Delville will work for Symrise at its fine fragrance studio in New York.

DS Containers:

DS Containers has named Matt Kuehn as director, technical services, reporting to Emil Obradovich, vice president, sales, marketing and technical. He joined DSC from Bway Corporation, and previously held technical

Croda:

Croda Inc. promoted Jena Kinney from marketing manager, home care and functional specialities, where she was responsible for Croda’s interests in the industrial and household product arena to marketing manager, hair care. Prior to that, she held the position of account manager in Croda’s Midwest region. Before joining Croda, Ms. Kinney held sales and marketing positions at Lambent Technologies in Gurnee, IL and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Croda also welcomed Suellen Bennett as marketing manager to its botanicals division. She is specifically responsible for the Crodarom and Crodamazon lines. Ms. Bennett started her career as a microbiologist at Estée Lauder and held

various sales and marketing positions at Brooks Industries, Biosil Technologies and GE. She is active with the New York Chapter of the SCC and will serve as the chair of the chapter in 2008.

Berry Plastics:

Jerry Ruud has been named vice president sales and marketing for the personal care business unit of Berry Plastics Rigid Closed Top Division. Berry is the parent company of Tubed Products, LLC located in Easthampton, MA.

Mr. Ruud first joined then Tubed Products, Inc. in 1993 and has 14 years of experience in sales and sales management in the plastic packaging industry. His previous responsibilities included direct sales in the West Coast and East Coast

regions and most recently as eastern regional sales manager for the Berry Corp Rigid Closed Top Personal Care Division. Mr. Ruud holds a BS in Mathematics from Concordia University, Irvine, California and an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA.

Packaging Concepts Association:

Recently named Jack Leitman as its new president. Mr. Leitman assumed the position in January of 2007. Prior to this position, he served as the vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. Leitman began his lengthy marketing/packaging career at W. Braun, Canada where he was president. From there he held several leadership positions in the packaging industry before joining PCA in 2003. Mr. Leitman’s responsibilities include manufacturing, marketing, sales and new package development.

TRI Princeton:

Appointed Dr. Trefor Evans as principal scientist in measurement science. Dr. Evans has a B.S. in chemistry from the North East Wales Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in physical analytical chemistry from the University of Toledo. Most recently, Dr. Evans was a development manager in measurement science at Unilever.

International Flavors & Fragrances:

Marcello Bottoli, president and chief executive officer of Samsonite Corporation, and Linda Buck, a Nobel Prize winning scientist, have been elected to the board. With these additions, IFF’s board is now comprised of 10 independent members as well as Robert M. Amen, chairman and chief executive officer of IFF.

Oriflame:

Barbara Braeunlich has joined Oriflame Beauty as resident makeup artist. She is expected to build upon previous assignments with Oriflame in which she created the looks in the shoots for two key skin care product launches, Skindividual and Ecollagen for the company.

Ms. Braeunlich will advise Oriflame Beauty on the latest trends and key seasonal looks to create an innovative must-have collection of on-trend shades and tones. She brings 11 years of experience having worked for Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire as well as various advertising campaigns for leading perfume and cosmetic brands. She is a graduate of the London College of Fashion and worked briefly in film and music videos before establishing herself in the fashion and beauty industry.

Q Laboratories, Inc.:

Sara Goetz has been promoted to group leader of the analytical chemistry department at Q Laboratories, Inc. Ms. Goetz has worked as an analyst at Q Laboratories, Inc. since 2001, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northern Kentucky University.  As group leader, Ms. Goetz will be responsible for optimizing sample turn-around time, responding to client inquiries and requests and maintaining the overall excellence of the chemistry laboratory and laboratory staff.

SDA:

Executives from The Dow Chemical Company and PQ Corporation have been elected to The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) board. During its mid-year meeting in Washington, D.C., SDA’s board elected the following directors: Tony Frencham, global business director and general manager, cleaning, The Dow Chemical Company; Paul J. Ferrall, Jr., president, PQ Americas, PQ Corporation. The current term of the new board members lasts through January 2008. The SDA board consists of 25 members; currently there is one vacancy.

In other action, the board elected Seamus McBride, president, U.S. and Worldwide Commercial Effectiveness, Colgate-Palmolive Company, as SDA treasurer. Mr. McBride serves as chair of the board’s finance committee.

ICMAD:

The ICMAD board of directors reelected David Schieffelin, Models Prefer Ltd., Waterbury, CT, as its president. Other officers elected are: vice presidents: Carl Geffken, Carl Geffken Consultants, Guilford, CT and Pamela Viglielmo, The Gramercy House, Fairfield, CT; treasurer: Howard Baker, H. Baker Development, Hopatcong, NJ and secretary: Sharon Blinkoff, Buchanan Ingersoll, PC, New York, NY. The Board also reappointed Stanley Katz, Katco Industries, Inc., Northport, NY and Marva Kalish, Marketing Plus Consultants, Douglaston, NY, for additional one year terms as chair and vice chair, respectively.
