Kinerase launches new peptide-based skin care products.



Everywhere you look these days there’s another skin care formula touting the anti-aging benefits of peptides. But a new product from Kinerase goes several steps further. Its new C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment and Pro+Therapy C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment are billed as innovative, next-generation products that target skin damage for noticeably younger-looking skin within 28 days.
   
To get the word out about the C8 line, Kinerase invited beauty editors and the trade press to a press conference in New York on Nov. 11.
   
C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment from Kinerase.
According to Kinerase, a division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals, the product contains high levels of vitamin C, a natural lightener and collagen booster to even out skin tone and fill in fine lines. The formula also contains a neuropeptide (SNAP-8) which reduces, by 34.9% in tests, the depth and appearance of wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions. SNAP-8 is the second generation of Argireline, and has been shown to be 30% more active than the first generation Argire- line in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
   
The C8 formulations also contain several antioxidants in-cluding kinetin, vitamin E and green tea extract. Both products will debut next month. The Kinerase Pro+Therapy C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment will be available only through dermatologists, while C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment will be sold on Kinerase.com as well as Nordstrom, Sephora and Ulta and their respective websites.
   
But all this technology isn’t cheap. Kinerase C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment will retail for $98, while Kinerase Pro+Therapy C8 Peptide Intensive Treatment will retail for $119.
