Animal Testing Ban in Russia?

Cruelty Free International (CFI) says it has secured a clear Russian commitment that non-animal tests to prove safety will be accepted. The bipartisan Bill, if passed by Russia's Parliament, would phase out animal testing on cosmetics and materials by 2020.


Just last month, CFI's North American manager Monica Engebretson spoke at a US congressional briefing on the Humane Cosmetics Act in conjunction with Representatives Martha McSally and Don Beyer, the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus, and others.

CFI calls itself the largest global campaign dedicated to ending the use of animals to test cosmetics and other consumer products throughout the world. It claims to have one million consumers backing its pledge for a global ban on animal testing for cosmetics.
