Centerchem, Inc. signed a multi-year supply agreement for Amyris’s Neossance squalane. Under the deal, Centerchem will be the distributor for Neossance squalane in the US and Canada.

“We believe that Neossance Squalane is poised to become the industry’s leading sustainable alternative to conventional sources of squalane,” said Jon Packer, president of Centerchem.

“We are excited to have joined forces with Centerchem for distribution of Neossance squalane in the United States and Canada,” said John Melo, CEO of Amyris.“Our squalane gives customers a renewable and reliable alternative source for this best-in-class emollient.”

Amyris, a leading renewable products company, has developed a unique biotechnology process that enables the reliable and sustainable production of 100% plant-derived pure squalane. According to the company, this high performance, Ecocert-approved and USDA-certified 100% bio-based emollient is derived from plant sugars at a scale capable of meeting the world’s demand.

Ideal for elegant face products and emulsions, as well as body lotions and moisturizers, Neossance Squalane leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth without a greasy, heavy after-feel. Amyris’s manufacturing process, based in North Carolina, provides consistent product quality, yielding a colorless and odorless squalane that is more stable to ultra-violet light than conventional squalane.
