CIBS Holds First ‘Innovation’ Event of 2012

Attendees networked and explored packaging innovations.

CIBS’Innovation Committee recently held its first event of the year at Material ConneXion’s library ofinnovativematerials and processesinNew York City.
More than 55 CIBS members and non-members toured the library on Jan. 26, learning about packaging made from non-traditional materials and cutting edge manufacturingsuch assalmon skin “leather” and protective packaging that grows itself using mushroom spores.
And, of course, it was a great opportunity for networking with peers and new friends, according to the organization.
Committee chairperson Michael Robinson and co-chairperson Victoria Fogarty are intent on providing access to innovation throughconnection to cutting edge and educational resources and experienceslike this, and have plans for several more events throughout the year.
