At the recently concluded In-Cosmetics, Dow Corning promoted CE-7080 Smart Style, its newest silicone technology. According to the company, this amino silicone elastomer emulsion gives consumers the styling benefits they desire, including defined curls, frizz control, hair bounce and flexible hold. At the same time, it conditions, leaving hair smooth and easier to comb through. In lab tests, CE-7080 Smart Style demonstrated superior smoothness and curl definition.

Also during the event, Dow Corning unveiled new data demonstrating that a selection of Dow Corning specialty silicones can visibly revive smoothness and restore glide, while improving resistance to hair breakage. In tests designed to simulate the effect of heat-related damage and measure sensory benefits, Dow Corning silicones outperformed a leading commercial benchmark and a control formulation without silicone in helping hair revive smoothness, improve dry combing and reduce hair breakage.

Finally, Dow Corning promoted the benefits of its MQ-1640 Flake Resin, a specially formulated blend of MQ and T propyl silicone resins that enables formulators to create a flexible, durable film that resists wear- and wash-off. As a result, in sunscreens it can potentially improve SPF due to good compatibility with sunscreen actives and improved wash-off resistance.
