L’Oréal Patents Skin/Lip Composition U.S. Patent No. 7,803,356 B2; L’Oréal, Paris has patented a composition for the skin or lips that contains ethylheptamethyltrisiloxane and/or butylheptamethyltrisiloxane; at least one silicone resin; and a cosmetically acceptable medium. P&G Patents Oral Care Products U.S. Patent No. US 7,803,353 B2; P&G has patented oral care compositions in liquid form that have improved consumer aesthetics and taste. The compositions—mouth rinse, mouth spray, dental solution and irrigation fluid—are comprised of a pre-solubilized peroxide source; a flavor composition comprising a coolant combination of menthol and at least one secondary coolant and a mixture of flavor components that maintain a consistent flavor profile in the presence of peroxide comprising methyl salicylate, cinnamic alcohol, eucalyptol and menthone; and an orally-acceptable carrier. The composition has a pH of approximately 4.0-6.0 for peroxide stability and the flavor composition effectively masks undesirable aesthetics derived from peroxide and provides a high impact refreshing taste and sensation. Topical Treatment for Hair Loss U.S. Patent No. 7,803,357 B2; John V. Cappello of King of Prussia, PA has patented a composition for the topical treatment of hair loss. It is comprised of minoxidil, urea, hydrocortisone and a skin desquamation agent comprising tretinoin. Georgia-Pacific Patents Antimicrobial Hand Soap U.S. Patent No. 7,803,746 B2; Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products, Atlanta, has patented an antimicrobial foam hand soap that contains inulin or an inulin surfactant. The aqueous foam hand soap composition, which is suitable for air-foaming, is comprised of more than 75% water; a polysaccharide or polysaccharide surfactant selected from the group consisting of inulin, inulin surfactants and mixtures thereof; a polyglucoside surfactant which is a sulfonate-functionalized polyglucoside surfactant; and at least one additional foaming surfactant selected from the group consisting of betaine surfactants. The composition exhibits a liquid viscosity at room temperature of from approximately 2.5 cps to about 35 cps, as well as a 60-second foam stability of at least 0.5. Universal Beauty Patents Adhesives Removal Indicator U.S. Patent No. 7,780,795 B1; Universal Beauty, Inc., Elk Grove Village, IL, has patented a method for removing residual bonding adhesive from skin, scalp, hair, forehead, hairline, epidermis and combinations thereof. It entails providing the residual bonding adhesive on the substrate, wherein the residual bonding adhesive results from the application of adhesive to the substrate; applying an adhesive absorbable colored dye on the residual bonding adhesive; applying a bonding adhesive solvent on the colored adhesive; removing from the substrate the colored adhesive with the bonding adhesive solvent. The adhesive colored dye is a skin impermeable dye. Water-In-Oil Emulsion Foundation U.S. Patent No. 7,776,348 B2; L’Oréal has patented a foundation in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion. It is comprised of a fatty phase, an aqueous phase, at least one surfactant chosen from C8-C22 alkyl dimethicone copolyols, at least one other surfactant chosen from dimethicone copolyols, and hydrophobic coated pigments. The fatty phase comprises at least 30% by weight, relative to the total weight of the emulsion, of a volatile fatty phase comprising at least 6% by weight, relative to the total weight of the emulsion, of at least one volatile hydrocarbon oil; and at least one volatile oil chosen from volatile silicone oils and volatile fluorinated oils. Cleaner for Hard to Remove Organic Material U.S. Patent No. 7,781,388 B2; American Sterilizer, Mentor, OH, has patented an aqueous cleaning composition that contains one oxidizing agent that is an inorganic peroxide or an organic peroxide or a salt thereof, a halogen compound, or an alkylating agent or combinations thereof; a hydrophilic surfactant; one hydrotrope surfactant; one ultraviolet light analyzable phenol alkoxide surfactant; and water. Coty Patents Liquid StickAntiperspirant U.S. Patent No. 7,799,318 B2; Coty S.A., Paris, has patented a method for improving stability of an antiperspirant free of zinc glycinate. It entails preparing a blend free of zinc glycinate, the blend consisting of dibenzylidene sorbitol a liquid carrier consisting of one or more of the solvents selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol, an aliphatic alcohol, and a polyglycol ether; and optionally, hydroxy-propyl cellulose or stearyl alcohol. The blend is devoid of any other solvents. An antiperspirant active is added to the blend as well as sodium silicate, potassium silicate, calcium silicate, magnesium silicate, zinc silicate, aluminum silicate or mixtures thereof. Shiseido Patents Method to Measure Skin Absorbability U.S. Patent No. 7,799,319 B2; Shiseido has patented a method for accelerating skin-pore absorption of a substance having skin-pore absorbability. It comprises mixing the substance having skin-pore absorbability with isostearyl alcohol and applying the mixture to the skin. The substance has skin-pore absorbability being pantothenyl ethyl ether or β-glycyrrhetinic acid.
