At Noah’s Naturals, a popular mass market personal care brand, 12 of its skin care products have been awarded the “certified natural” seal of approval from the Natural Products Association (NPA).

Since the natural standard certification program was implemented two years ago, just a fraction of the natural personal care products in the marketplace have met the NPA’s stringent criteria for certification. In fact, the NPA recently surpassed 300 certified products – and Noah’s Naturals helped them reach that milestone.

Under the NPA’s program, to merit bearing the seal, products must follow strict guidelines set by the association. Products must be comprised of at least 95 percent natural ingredients – coming from a renewable or plentiful source found in nature (flora, fauna, mineral). Non-natural ingredients are allowed only when viable natural alternative ingredients are unavailable and only when there are absolutely no suspected potential human health risks. Products cannot use animal testing beyond what is required by law, and they must use a majority of (bio)degradable and post-consumer recycled content in their packaging.
