Howard Murad To Be Honored by Long Island University

Howard Murad, founder of Murad, Inc., will receive the Daniel Stateman Distinguished Alumni Award on May 14 from the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Long Island University.


Dr. Murad trained as a pharmacist at the University before becomming one of the world’s most respected dermatologists and researchers.

“To be recognized with this prestigious award by the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is an honor that serves to remind me just how fortunate I’ve been to be able to create a career from a passion for helping people live healthier and feel better about themselves,” said Murad. “My knowledge of pharmacological science acquired at Long Island University has played a significant role in my research and interdisciplinary Inclusive Health approach to treating patients. I am eternally grateful for the learning experience and the honor bestowed upon me from the school.”

The Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the oldest unit of Long Island University, was established in 1886 as the “Brooklyn College of Pharmacy” by the Kings County Pharmaceutical Society.
