ISP introduced the Vincience BiotHAIRapy line of biofunctional extracts during In-Cosmetics. The BiotHAIRapy line includes three products: Dynagen, Capauxein and Protectagen extracts, which boost nutrition, increase protein expression and markers of adult stem cells, to help defend against UV-induced damage and improve hair generation.

The launch of BiotHAIRapy comes at a time when ISP is aggressively introducing new products for skin care and encapsulation. In fact, the company has doubled its number of patents.

“We’re focusing on advanced science,” said Jim Mish, senior VP, ISP. “We’re reaping the benefits of our product pipeline, which is full of innovation.”

Dynagen, a yeast extract, enhances the expression of proteins involved in the architecture of the hair. According to ISP, this may have an effect on boosting the expression of keratin 14 and 17, which have been shown to support hair strength and reinforce hair structure. In-vitro/ex-vivo testing has shown that Dynagen enhances the expression of K71 and trichohyalin, which aid in the physical stability and physiological strength of hair follicles.

Capauxein, a corn extract, helps maintain the hair growth cycle and boost hair regeneration. It reportedly boosts the expression of protein markers in-vitro related to communication and cell signaling in hair follicles, as well as cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion. The material also boosts in-vitro the markers P63, Ki67 and phospho histone-3—all of them linked to hair growth and hair follicle renewal.

Protectagen boosts the markers of stem cell activity and helps the natural defense against UV-induced damage. Based on ex-vivo studies, Protectagen enhanced the expression of markers keratin 15, alpha-6 integrin, beta-catenin and P63.
