Coria Laboratories, a division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals North America, has signed on as the exclusive skin care sponsor of USA Swimming from 2010-2013. The four-year deal represents the first venture into sports sponsorship by the Fort Worth-based company, which was acquired by Valeant in 2008. Coria said it will use the partnership to increase consumer brand awareness of its CeraVe brand, adermatologist-recommended line that treats skin conditions such as dry skin.

“We know that active swimmers, who we feel are leaders in their communities and schools, like and use our product currently,” said Trey Schutz, vice president of consumer marketing and national accounts, Coria Laboratories. “Our partnership with USA Swimming provides us with the opportunity to further educate this audience about the benefits of CeraVe on their dry skin and we look forward to activating this collaboration both at the grassroots level of the sport, as well as on the national platform.”

Coria’s sponsorship includes parent-themed content on USA Swimming’s website, extensive sampling of CeraVe products at many of USA Swimming’s 6,800-sanctioned swim meets, access to major USA Swimming events, and advertising on USA Swimming’s wholly-owned website. A TV commercial for CeraVe will debut as part of the NBC broadcast of the 2009 AT&T Short Course National Championships and the 2009 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool.
