Niche perfumer Neil Morris has created an exclusive fragrance for Takashimaya New York, a division of one of the world’s largest department stores known for its rare and exclusive goods. The fragrance, Neil Morris for Takashimaya New York, launches in September and will be only available at the Fifth Avenue, New York retailer.

“I could not have been happier when my friends at Takashimaya asked me to create a scent for them,” said Boston-based fragrance designer, Neil Morris, who has been designing scents for over 30 years. “I wanted the fragrance to incorporate the beauty and serenity of the Japanese culture along with the stylish sophistication of Fifth Avenue. It’s my artistic twist on East meets West.”

The subtle, evocative, and serenely compelling Neil Morris for Takashimaya New York opens with top notes of black currant, mandarin, bergamot and aldehydes for a sparkling and fresh introduction. Heart notes include plum blossom, jasmine tea, Japanese cherry blossom, bamboo and dossinia orchid, accented with narcissus. A base note of cedar is enriched with accents of oak, tonka, orris and oud.

“We are thrilled to offer Neil Morris’ perfumes as part of our collection of distinctive fragrances that we’ve assembled from around the globe. He has a remarkable sensibility of knowing what his clients desire in a scent that is distinguished and beautiful. We expect that the new scent for Takashimaya will inherit a loyal customer following,” said Virginia Haygood, general merchandise manager for Takashimaya New York. “Neil has truly captured our brand.”
