ICMAD Announces Young Designer Winners

The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Asso- ciation (ICMAD) announced the top three winners of the 2004 Young Designers competition at an awards dinner held Sept. 29 in New York City.
Kasia Stach, a student at the American Academy of Art, took first place and a cash prize of $2,500 for her “Orangery” body soak. Carl Cepress of Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH, was the second-place winner for the “Four Element System” men’s grooming system. He received $1,500. The third place prize went to Jee-Eun Lee, a Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) student, who received $1000 for her “Tea Spa” eye soothers.
The evening concluded with a presentation by ICMAD member Lydia Sarafti, founder and president of Repechage, with the topic “Getting under your skin,” a discussion on the evolution of the spa cosmetics industry.
