l Inwork, New York, NY, a packaging composite supplier, has re-positioned the company to provide prototypes that reflect final print production. The company now provides support to design management with tools that enhance innovation, add value and streamline the creative process. Inwork offers its new “tools for design management,” a collection of services that complement the existing practices of project management. They include Inwork Insight, Inwork Integration, Inwork Onsite, Research Stimuli, Sales Samples and Global Standards. The tools are activated at the start of a design project to support the process from creative all the way through final production. “The faster the industry operates, the less people are having a chance to talk,”commented Gordon Plotkin, principal, Inwork. “We recognized the need for synergy and communication throughout the design process among design managers, design agencies, printers and separators. By getting all the players involved early and sharing concepts with consideration to the program objectives and production constraints, we are able to identify the best possible path toward the best solution. “Our focus is providing the means to bring everyone together.” The tools for design management can maximize the communication efforts of suppliers to increase innovation, capacity and realize cost efficiencies, Inwork executives said. CCL Signs Agreement With Gibo-Italia l CCL Plastic Packaging Inc., Los Angeles, signed an exclusive North American distribution, manufacturing and li-censing agreement with Gibo-Italia. Gibo-Italia is a leading European supplier of plastic and glass jars, Flip-Top roll-on closures, bottles and dispensing systems. Financial details were not disclosed. Under the terms of the agreement, CCL Plastic Packaging of Plattsburgh, CCL’s jar and vial manufacturing facility, is the exclusive North American distributor of Gibo’s patented one-piece Flip-Top jar. CCL Dispensing Systems, Libertyville, IL, holds exclusive rights to distribute Gibo’s roll-on Flip-Top closure. “Under our agreement, we will introduce Gibo products to the health, beauty and personal care markets through an aggressive marketing effort,” said Bob Blankenheim, vice president of operations, CCL Plastic Packaging of Plattsburgh. Peter Gamoff, president, CCL Dispensing Systems, added, “CCL’s exclusive agreement, with built-in import pricing, set lead times and a virtual guaranteed supply base, makes adding Gibo products to an existing or proposed product line cost- effective and a superior choice.” Initially, Gibo will continue to manufacture the jars and closures in its Milan, Italy and Barcelona, Spain manufacturing plants, with CCL managing ordering and imports. Future plans include bringing the European manufacturing capabilities to CCL’s Plattsburgh plant.
