Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc., Provo, UT, announced its president and chief executive officer, Steven J. Lund, has accepted a leadership assignment in the missionary program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for three years, starting in July. He will be replaced by Truman Hunt, formerly the company’s executive vice president and general counsel. As president, Mr. Hunt will immediately assume direct oversight of the operations of each of Nu Skin Enterprises’ product divisions, as well as direction of the company’s Provo-based operations. Mr. Lund will continue to oversee the company’s strategic direction and operations in global markets until the annual shareholder meeting in May 2003, at which time Mr. Hunt will also become the chief executive officer.Mr. Hunt joined Nu Skin Enterprises more than six years ago, managing the company’s initial public offering. He has served as the corporation’s chief legal officer since then, and has been part of the four-person executive management committee, which directs the company’s day-to-day operations. Prior to joining the company, he was president of Better Living Products, Inc., a Nu Skin affiliate involved in marketing consumer products through traditional retail channels. Mr. Hunt was engaged in the private practice of corporate and transactional law prior to running Better Living Products.“Given the significant contributions made by Truman over the past six years, we are very comfortable that we will continue to grow the business and achieve our stated objectives,” said Blake M. Roney, chairman of the board. “Those close to our business recognize that Truman has been a key player in returning growth to our international operations.”The company also announced that D. Matthew Dorny, formerly assistant general counsel, will assume the role of vice president and general counsel, filling the vacancy created by Mr. Hunt’s new assignment. He formerly served as the company’s primary legal counsel responsible for securities law issues and corporate transactions. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Dorny was engaged in private legal practice in Salt Lake City.
