Color&Co Offers Virtual Try On

Allows consumers to select different shades and test them out.

L'Oréal’s newest startup Color&Co, a leader in at-home personalized hair color, unveiled a new feature on September 15—a complimentary, virtual color try on, powered by Modiface. The feature is called “See Yourself in Color” and is available on www.colorandco.com.
 
Here is a quick rundown of how it works:
 

  1. Consumers select from different shade families as standard as brown and as wild as pastels.
  2. Consumers access an image or participate live through a phone or computer camera.
  3. The app provides a virtual before and after of the desired shade, with both images shown side by side.
  4. Whether the consumer wants to actually go through with the color change or not, the side by side image is available for a share on social media platforms.
 
While virtual try on is available from similar brands, Color&Co’s offering is backed by a dedicated team of professional colorists: the Collective.
 
After the virtual try on, consumers can complete a complementary video consultation offered by the Collective or take an online quiz, with feedback from the try on helping to guide the process. Consumers are then given a second chance to virtually try on the newly-created shade, to ensure complete customer satisfaction. If the shade is not right, the Collective creates  an alternative—the ultimate try before you buy.
