Oral care company Waterpik has received the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance for Waterpik Water Flossers. While more than 200 products carry the ADA Seal of Acceptance, the Waterpik Water Flosser is the first and only powered interdental product to earn the ADA seal. “This product was shown to reduce plaque and gingivitis in areas between the teeth, often the most difficult areas for patients to effectively clean,” said Dr. John Dmytryk, chair of the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs’ Seal Subcommittee. “By granting the ADA Seal of Acceptance to the Waterpik Water Flosser, consumers for whom these devices are appropriate can be confident that they can be a safe and effective component of their daily oral care when used as directed.” The Waterpik Water Flossers earning the ADA Seal of Acceptance are the Aquarius Professional Designer Series,Aquarius Professional, Ultra, Traveler and Nano. In more than 65 published clinical research studies, the WaterpikWater Flosser has proven to be the most effective means of cleaning between the teeth, and the devices are widely recommended by dentists and dental hygienists. It’s proven to remove up to 99.9% of plaque from treated areas, and s up to 50% more effective for improving gum health, up to two times as effective for improving gum health around implants and up to three times as effective for removing plaque around braces versus using string floss, according to the company. Waterpik Water Flossers are currently available through retailers, online and through dental professionals.
