Procter & Gamble appointed Stephanie Headley as senior vice president and brand franchise leader of Olay and North America Skincare. She is the first Black woman and first woman of color in the role. Headley was named to Ebony’s Power 100 list for 2021.

She noted that Olay already makes high quality skincare formulas. That will certainly continue on her watch. But Headley noted consumers  want to see themselves in a brand that reflects their values.

“I’m excited to continue to tell stories about the consumers we want to serve,” she said.

To stay front-and-center and top-of-mind with its customers in the arts and sciences, Olay will continue to support Queen Collective, a short film mentoring and development program that advocates for women directors. In the lab, Headley is determined to close the STEM gender gap by 2030. She is committed to doubling the number of women of color who are pursuing STEM [science, technology, engineering and math] fields. According to Olay, just 24% of STEM roles are held by women.

To build P&G’s skincare position, Headley is determined to attract more consumers (men/nonbinary account for 10% of Olay customers), tell more compelling stories, and create more powerful products with ingredients that women trust.
