Meyer Rosen Appointed HBA Scientific Advisor



HBA Global Expo:

Meyer R. Rosen, president of Interactive Consulting, Inc. and industry leader, expert, author, and editor in specialty chemicals, personal care and cosmetics technologies has been named chief scientific advisor for the HBA Global Expo product development event and educational conference.

In his new role, Mr. Rosen will be responsible for developing the content and selecting top speakers for all of HBA’s technical educational programs held at the annual September event and mid-year conference symposia.

In addition, he will be enhancing the educational experience offered by HBA, starting with HBA University, a new program dedicated to providing an expanded view of cutting edge information and education based upon a “functional innovation” approach to learning. He is also conference chair and organizer of HBA’s Annual International Regulatory Summit.


J&E Sozio:

David Sanchez has joined J&E Sozio Inc. as sales manager for Latin America and Florida. His primary responsibilities will be to develop the fragrance business and establish representatives throughout Latin America. Mr. Sanchez brings many years of experience to the fragrance industry, with specific sales and marketing skills in the Latin America. He holds a business degree from Pace University.

In addition, Dominique Bouley has been appointed chief perfumer for J&E Sozio Inc. Mrs. Bouley has more than 20 years experience of creative perfumery in France, England and the United States including eight years with Alpine Aromatics. She joined J&E Sozio Inc. as a senior perfumer in October 2006.


CPH Holding Corp.:

William J. Holbrook has been named chief financial officer of CPH Holding Corp. Mr. Holbrook has more than 30 years of experience at chemical companies, including Henkel, Soverying Specialty Chemicals, Rohm and Haas and Morton International.

He served as vice president and group controller-chemical specialties, at Morton and continued in that position after Rohm and Haas purchased the company in 1999.


RIFM:

The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, Inc. appointed Dr. Madhuri Singal to direct fragrance industry respiratory programs. He has been appointed to the role of respiratory scientist. Dr. Singal will transition existing exposure and clinical studies to future areas of interest.

Dr. Singal received her doctorate in molecular toxicology and environmental medicine and a masters degree in environmental medicine from the University of Rochester, and her bachelors in respiratory care from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University.


Gemini Cosmetics:

Welcomes Joanne Cardello to its management team.  Ms. Cardello was appointed vice president marketing. Ms. Cardello was previously vice president, creative marketing with P&G prestige products, where she led the creation of global concepts, fragrances, packaging design, and ad direction for the Dunhill and Montblanc brands. Robert Rumsby will continue in the role of chief operating officer. Frank Fazzinga, chairman of the board of directors and majority shareholder will jointly manage the company with Mr. Rumsby.


Packaging Concepts Association: 

Named Jack Leitman as its new president. Mr. Leitman served as the senior vice president sales & marketing before stepping into his role as president at PCA. He began his marketing career at ABC Corporation in Canada.
    Mr. Leitman will be responsible for corporate finance, financial reporting and accounting, manufacturing, marketing and sales.


Hill Top Research:

Barrie Keiser has been appointed chief executive officer of Hill Top Research. He began his career with Baxter International where he served as general manager of Baxter’s specialty distribution service business, ValueLink.

Avatar:

Richard Staack was named vice president, product development & research, Avatar Corporation. He has a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Masters of Science in Food Science, a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and a Doctorate in Nutritional & Biochemical Toxicology.

Mr. Staack served as the vice president of sales & new business development, with Cevena Bioproducts and brings work experience in global sales for new and existing core products, development of trade and consumer marketing materials required to build a brand strategy.


Drom Fragrances:

Michael J.R. White joins drom fragrances from International Flavors and Fragrances. He will be heading the applications technology division as global applications director.

Mr. White acquired several years of international experience at International Flavors & Fragrances as applications manager. He worked within the homecare sector for four years and then the fabric care and liquids/softeners sectors for eight years.

Markwins:

Markwins North America appointed Martin Toh general manager of the division. Mr. Toh, chief operations operator, will now report directly to Eric Chen, chairman and chief executive officer of Markwins International, the parent company of Markwins North America. Mr. Toh has been with Markwins for 12 years, serving as an integral part of the operations department. He lead the operations team in the acquisition of Wet N Wild, Black Radiance and Tropez.


DeWolf Chemicals:

Michael Hershey has joined the DeWolf Chemical sales team as an account executive. Mr. Hershey brings to DeWolf Chemical more than 16 years of distribution sales experience having worked for Ashland Chemical’s fine ingredients division and as an owner of Avatar Specialties; a supplier of ingredients to the food and flavor industry.

Prior to his distribution experience, Mr. Hershey was enlisted in the US Air Force. Mr. Hershey will be focusing on the personal care and HI&I markets for DeWolf Chemical in New England and parts of New York and New Jersey.

Another Dewolf addition, Kimberlee Corleone was appointed to technical account executive covering the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining the DeWolf Chemical sales team,  Ms. Corleone was an account manager at Induchem USA, Inc. Her background also includes research & development positions at Colgate Palmolive and L’Oreal and she currently has six active patent applications.

Ms. Corleone received her bachelor’s degree in biology from The College of New Jersey.


Creative Nail Design:

Creative Nail Design welcomed Jan Zanettini to its team. Jan Zanettini joins Creative Nail Design’s sales department in the new position of national school account manager. As national school account manager, Ms. Zanettini will focus on managing and overseeing all educational and business developmental activity in direct school accounts and implementing tailored, school-specific curriculum.

In addition to Ms. Zanettini, Creative Nail Design welcomed Kathleen Summers to the role of director of key accounts. Ms. Summers joined Creative Nail Design in June of 2006 as manager of salon & school development where her focus was on analyzing the efficacy and success of Creative Nail Design’s education programs, and developing new programs. In her new role, Ms. Summers will take on the added responsibility of directing the chain and spa businesses and managing all of Creative Nail Design’s direct customer support.

Tri-K Industries:

appointed Salvador Pliego as senior director of business development. His responsibilities include managing Tri-K’s R&D department, supporting sales staff with technical trainging and involvement in key industry events. Mr. Pliego holds a BS in biochemical engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Querétaro, Mexico.

Symrise:

Wolfgang Blume was elected president of Deutscher Verband der Riechstoffhersteller (DVRH), the German association of the fragrance industry. Mr. Blume is also the vice president of sales central Europe fragrances at Symrise.
   
Mr. Blume will focus on continuity and transparency as indispensable factors in maintaining the trust of the association members as well as welcoming new members.
