Using its patented Zeta Fraction technology, AkzoNobel has developed Recentia plant serum fractions, a new weapon in the war against aging. This bioactive material, derived from tea, is said to quench the earliest inflammation messengers, prevent oxidative damage, provide photostabilization of ingredients, inhibit production of key inflammatory signals and inhibit later-stage messengers of inflammation and tissue damaging enzymes.

The Zeta Fraction technology is unlike traditional extraction methods, which demand that the plant be dehydrated—thus damaging the cell wall, oxidizing materials and diminishing the plant’s benefits. In contrast, the Zeta Fraction method starts with live plants, eliminates the drying process and ensures more active ingredients. At the same time, the Zeta Fraction method enables AkzoNobel to ensure product quality throughout the production chain.

At use levels ranging from 0.1-1%, Recentia CS has applications in anti-aging, skin care, sun care, hair care, bath and shower products and color cosmetics.
