Ajinomoto’s Amihope SB-103 is a functional powder made of round-shaped particles based on nature-derived ingredients.
This microplastic alternative is fully biodegradable and has better sensory feeling and soft-focus properties than existing natural powders, according to Ajinomoto. It offers a better balance of stability and usability in pressed-type formulations and can improve the color difference of color cosmetics products before and after application on the skin.
Amihope SB-103 can be used both in hot and cold processes. The hydrophobicity of Lauroyl Lysine, coating Amihope SB-103, protects the starch particles in the water phase.
Amihope has many applications in personal care. For example:
• Makeup: Powder foundation, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, liquid foundation, BB/CC cream, makeup primer, concealer, lipstick, etc. • Sun care: Sunscreen cream, lotion, gel, etc. • Skincare: Cream, lotion, facial cleanser, shower gel, body soap, etc.
