Ambulatum is a vegetable-based blend of Ricinus Communis (castor) seed oil and hydrogenated castor oil from Ambuja Solvex P Ltd (Booth No. 650). The material is manufactured by a proprietary processing technology to achieve a gel-like, colloid suspension with physical and formulation characteristics very similar to petrolatum. As such it is an ideal alternative to the use of petrochemical based petrolatum. It has applications as a broad-based ointment base and a valuableemulsion. Its usesinclude anhydrous formulations and can be as varied as lip treatments, color cosmetics, hair pomades and moisturizers. Ambulatum, being castor-based, hasoutstanding pigment wetting ability. It is a natural makeup remover. The solvent action of external oil phase serves to dissolve oil and grime particles and suspend pigments when makeup removal is also a goal. Ambulatumhas superior pigment-wetting ability over mineral oil or petrolatum. Ambulatumis a lipophilic material and dissolves oil and grime as well, allowing for their removal from the surface of the skin.
