Eliminating wrinkles with actives derived from exotic plants can often seem far-fetched, but now a new player in the anti-aging category takes its product backstory to a whole new level—outer space. According to executives at Rejuvel Bio-Sciences, NASA scientists are growing stem cells in a bioreactor that simulates the near weightlessness of space.

In microgravity, the cells grow in three dimensions, making them far more potent than those grown in regular gravity in a flat two-dimensional dish. Rejuvel licensed the NASA technology and grew plant stem cells that provide the unique ingredient for its Rejuvel 3D skin cream.

“It’s space certified and it will help regrow your tissue,” said John Stickler, vice president, Rejuvel Bio-Sciences. “It is the best anti-aging cream in the world.” Clinical results in which wrinkles diminish, dark spots fade and skin becomes softer and more youthful prove that it works, he added.

Of course, the US Food and Drug Administration may have something to say about any tissue regrowth claims.

To market Rejuvel 3D, the company is partnering with distributors globally, and Rejuvel Bio-Science President Charles Scimeca said he plans to move the company into medical type formulas and products.
